Discover San Miguel de Allende
A Step Back in Time
Founded in 1542 by the Franciscan monk, Juan de San Miguel, San Miguel de Allende is a small town with a vibrant and rich history. Today the city maintains its Spanish colonial roots with cobblestone streets and colonial architecture that earned it the recognition in 2008 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Uniquely placed on the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro trail, or Silver Route, visitors experience old world charm with the convenience of a modern city.
The Path to SMA
San Miguel is tucked into the Bajio mountains, about a 90-minute drive from the closest international airports Guanajuato International Airport (BJX) and Querétaro International Airport (QRO), or a 3.5-hour drive from Mexico City.
At present, QRO receives direct flights from major United States cities, including Chicago, Dallas, Detroit and Houston.

Consistently Comfortable
With year round highs fluctuating between the low 70s and 80s F, or 21 to 27 C, this mountain escape is known for its mild weather. Warmer nights in the summer are ideal for sunset rides, while cooler winter nights give way to fireside chats.
With sunshine most days, summer rain showers provide a welcome refresh in the afternoons.
